This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we honor the US veterans who have served our country and fought for our freedom. We also stand with the veterans who are battling breast cancer, and their families.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women veterans, but it is highly treatable when detected early. That's why it's so important for veterans to get regular mammograms and clinical breast exams.
Breast cancer is a known condition caused by burn pit exposure, and is now a recognized presumptive claim under the PACT Act. Veterans, please take care of yourself and get screened for breast cancer. You are not alone in this fight.
This link provides information on mammograms, clinical breast exams, and other breast cancer screening and prevention topics. It also includes a list of VA facilities that offer breast cancer screening services.
